01 / THE WORK BEHIND THE WORK

Consent-aware photo distribution with reviewable export records.

Finding the right photo is only half the job. Lens is being designed to keep usage context close to the image, helping a team review where an asset can go and which metadata should travel with it.

Where it stands

The source foundation is imported. Consent workflows and distribution rules are planned. Recorded permissions do not replace a legal review of rights.

02 / THE PLANNED TOOLKIT

Built around
your real work.

The intended Lens experience.
Feature availability will be confirmed before release.

  1. 01

    Catalog and develop local photos

  2. 02

    Organize collections and metadata

  3. 03

    Attach usage and consent records

  4. 04

    Review export audience and purpose

  5. 05

    Apply metadata distribution rules

  6. 06

    Track exported collections

A CLOSER LOOK / FEATURE DESIGN

How Lens
is intended to work.

Explore the behavior behind the feature names: what the product would do, and what the reviewer would still need to decide.

01Rights context close to the asset

Intended behavior

A record would link the image version to its stated usage scope, source, and supporting permission information. Missing or stale records would remain visible.

What to inspect

Check the authority and accuracy of the record; metadata alone does not grant rights.

02Purpose-specific distribution

Intended behavior

An export would name its intended audience and purpose. The selection process would identify records that need further review for that purpose.

What to inspect

Different uses may require different permissions even when the recipient is the same.

03Metadata policy and export history

Intended behavior

An approved export would apply a stated metadata policy and record which asset versions were distributed. Later policy changes could be compared against that history.

What to inspect

Inspect actual output metadata and account for copies that have already left the library.

03 / THE MRGI DIRECTION

Where we’re taking Lens.

Three product-specific priorities shaping the proposed MRGI experience.

01

Usage context at selection time

Bring the recorded permission, purpose, and expiry context into the export decision instead of leaving it in a separate spreadsheet.

02

Metadata chosen for the recipient

Plan rules that help reviewers include useful context while excluding metadata that should not be distributed.

03

A history of what left the library

Record the asset version, intended audience, and export settings, supporting later review when permissions or usage plans change.

These are development goals, not claims of shipped features or market exclusivity. AI, local operation, and automation are shared foundations—not the entire product distinction.

04 / BETTER CONNECTED

A next step
for every good idea.

Send reviewed photo selections to Pixel and Layout, and preserve supporting distribution records with Evidence.

  1. 01

    Organize

Catalog photos and attach usage context.

  2. 02

    Select

Review assets for a specific distribution purpose.

  3. 03

    Export

Apply metadata rules and record the handoff.

Assistance with a defined role.

Planned local catalog assistance can suggest tags and groups. Sensitive analysis and external processing require clear permission and provider settings.

Cross-app access is planned around selected resources and explicit consent. Ordinary local editing should not require uploading your files.

BUILT ON OPEN-SOURCE FOUNDATIONS

Local catalogs, RAW development, metadata, faces, and batch export exist in LightCraft. Consent-aware distribution is the proposed MRGI focus. Read the source credits ↗
